Part 2 of my review of Charting Options
Hey traders! This is part 2 of my review of @ChartingOptions‘s discord service.
I made this in 2 parts due to the amount of information.
If you missed the first part find it here:
4 Reasons why I use Charting Options 5 months in review
I’m going to go over the following in this article:
[These are actual categories in discord]
Chat
CO-Trade
Video breakdown
Twitter bots
Chart of the day
Leap ideas
BBS UPDATES on twitter
Education and info ( Lacking)
CHAT
Basic discord chat. There’s a bunch of traders of all kinds that help each other. If you’re new , someone will be more then willing to help. However CO isn’t always in the chatroom to answer questions. It is used more for us traders who are subscribed to talk about a specific ticker.
I’m personally not on there for the most part since I bounce around different discords.
If you’re expecting someone to tell you when to enter a trade and exit, this ISN’T the room for you.
Sub section: Charts Trades
There are members that do show trade ideas for the group. A lot of great ideas go through this room not just CO. I’m happy that other traders are showing off their ideas. Remember there are thousands of tickers and not 1 person knows it all so it helps to be in a group.
This is community!

CO-Trade
As of 10/3 this is effective. I do not have a long enough track record when he’s posting since it’s still fairly new. It wouldn’t be fair to judge this one ahead of time as I have no comment on this for now.
What I do advise to traders is, don’t ask him if he’s still in a trade, that would just be annoying.
But here is the sample that you’ll get. Also note that don’t base your opinion on things he calls out because you shouldn’t go in a trade because someone is making their entry.
Update: So far as of 10/12 this has got a great track record.
This goes to daytrades and swing trades. But you need to be aware that it may already move once he already posts the play. Stocks don’t wait for anyone 🙂
Video breakdown
I like how he does these and it’s becoming helpful.
Below is the example of another video recap. This is PRIVATE so I spoke to CO and got the permission to share one of these videos.
We got you guys 🙂
Remember the watchlist that I posted in the 1st review?
He talks about what we saw during the week in this video. But the main point of these videos you should watch what he’s looking for and curate it to your own trading style. In the beginning learning this and copying the trade is fine. But eventually you will have to trade on your own and find similar plays.
Just watch the video above and you’ll see exactly how he formats the videos.
Twitter Bots
I enjoy this one but I turned off the notifications. WHY? Because when I go on twitter I see the same posts. It’s a personal preference but still useful. For each time these guys post on twitter, it lands here on discord.
Great thing is discord has the alert notification that this will push it to your phone and you’ll get alerted. The feature is great and really .. i mean REALLY compliments the platform.
Chart of the Day
There’s not much say because it’s pretty self-explanatory right?
Gives a good idea on a certain ticker…
Leap Ideas
This section is for longer term holds in options. These are just ideas and isn’t updated as much as the daily swing plays. I personally haven’t found anything I like so far but I’m very picky on my leaps. It’s good to see where longer term plays may come in.
Blackboxstocks Updates
This is one of the best things on the platform. So Blackboxstocks by itself does have mods that call out the plays. In this case we also have CO that does the same thing. However he’s also adding the confluence in most of the plays.
If he sees something that is on the chart with the flow, this is where he’s getting his trade ideas. So sometimes you’ll get the actual screenshot of the flow. Think of it as a freebie flow from Blackboxstocks 🙂
Of course if you have blackboxstocks already then you’ll see the same flow but in real time.
Education and info
This is my only area where I will say…
Education section is lacking. But….hear me out
This needs improvement. Currently there is not really a clear direction on how this will be created.
There’s nothing there…..
Now the way that I see this is, that his channel is not exactly a “course”. The main point of the service is to give you trade ideas and a few more extras such as what was listed above.
However this service has grown over time appox over +6 months that eventually he will need something to teach the newer people who do join. Most of the people who have joined in the beginning probably already had the basic knowledge on how to read the charts.
I can see that if the education section does a bit better this will improve the service. But when that happens he’d have to charge more right 🙂
—> So to completely summarize this 2 part series here is what I can say
-
The weekly watchlist is gold. You are paying for this and it’s worth every penny
-
The scans are worth it as it gives you an idea of the overall market + tickers that are hitting certain tradeable criteria
-
Market recap is great for people with 9-5 as it will give you an easy to read summary
-
Video breakdowns are great for newbies.
-
$35/month. Best bang for your buck. Go find a cheaper one with this value and I’ll review it. I’m pretty SURE this price point is hard to beat.
That’s all folks. I really hoped this helped out. I will keep using his service since it helps me with my own trading. I rarely follow all his calls but I REALLY REALLY use it to get myself ideas on tickers to trade and if we both see the same things.

*I did this review because I really like the service. There are no affiliate links with CO and I did not get paid to write this. I just made some good money using the service 🙂
